Hi, does anybody have a picture of what the traction bars look like on an early SVO. I have these weird bars with rubber ends on them that look like they contol how far down the axle can travel. it's weird. I'll take a picture tommorow if that helps.

they are called slapper bars and the rubber part does hit the axles they were replace by the quad shock in 85

Is the quadra shock system vastly superior? Is it worth converting to a quadra shock system?

early 84 actually; all the 83 production run had slappers, phased out sometime in q1 84. my april 84 production had quads.
as for 'superior' id have to go with a meh. if you're looking for an upgrade, go with a heim-poly/rubber upper/lower trailing arm; kiss suspension bind goodbye. (thought there a lot of other cheaper upgrades you can do before ripping the suspension completely apart)

On the subject of slapper bars, one on my car has split and previous owner has it wrapped in duct tape. (UGH)! Any body know of replacement rubber for these?
Thanks
