The '86 Skittles may be getting new old shoes

I have a, Given to me, set of 94 Cobra Rims.... 2 of the rims have 255/45 17's them and I put them on the back and they stick out pretty far. I was told that it would be even more pronounced on the front because of the wider track.... I realize that 255's are more than an Inch wider that the 225's that are stock on the stock rims..but how skinny of a tire would look okay on the 94 Cobra rims in your opinion ?...

Need to know the offset (or backspacing and width). In any case - assuming your front suspension is still stock SVO - it should stick out the same as the rear.

I have 245/45/17 on mach 1 wheels and yes you can tell they look like they stick out farther on the front than the rear. With 245's on I did have to roll the rear lips a little bit.
