What do you guys know about SVO brake booster options??

Rebuildable?
Serviced by anyone you know?

Available in correct look at stores? (Autozone/Napa etc)

Conserned with function, fit, finish.

I would perform a leak down check to see if the diaphragm is bad or not.

You could call around to a rebuild supply house to see if the parts kit is available, they can be done at your own house.

6-10" of Hg is more than enough but how would you "bench test" for reduced pedal pressure?

I used a reman'd one in my red car and purchased it with reman MC as an assembly. Then I stripped it down and put on real paint, then installed a 94 Cobra aluminum MC with plastic reservoir and made special Metric-to-SAE pigtail lines to the PV.

I can probably find the source where I got the reman'd units, if it's needed (about six years back).

I did use Booster Dewey for the 1969 SCJ car and LOVED THE SERVICE !

Car (isn't mine -isn't here) Owner did go through TEST and looks like the booster is bad. Local store is bringing in Cardone unit $89.00 (so we have it here)

Mostly it is about "driving in and driving home" for Jamie (he doesn't want to be down or stay here for 3 days like last July)

R and R'd brake booster with Jamie. It was bad , leaking vacuum and not assisting.

He is driving the car - just like in the past !

is there a check valve on the booster? There is a check valve at the end of the large vac hose that connects to the booster can. Technically it is a separate part but often comes with a new or reman booster can.

Find the rubber (neoprene) grommet on the top of the booster can where the hose connects. There is where the check valve should be.

Also note that on boosted engines, the intake manifold side of that hose should have a spring clamp on it which is not needed on non-boosted engines.

A bad brake booster will also cause high eratic idle problems,after dealing with this for about 3 years the booster went out and it sounded like a vacuum cleaner under the dash.I got mine from O'Reillies painted it semi gloss black and that solved all my problems.My SVO runs perfect now and gas milage went up. This is a definite check on non mass air cars.
