On a side note, you need to polish your crank.....journals that is.

Removal actually... I was having a boitch of a time getting mine out so I could replace the leaky front main seal. It's all good now I got it out last night.

Not the best picture, but it wasn't obvious to me that the key is half moon shaped on the bottom, especially with the motor in the car. This was the only seal I didn't replace when I threw the motor together a few years ago and the oil leak is/was really driving me crazy....

There is no need to remove the key to R&R the seal. The seal diameter on the crank is much larget than the sprocket/pulley snout.


On a side note, you need to polish your crank.....journals that is. True dat. Those pics are during the incoming inspection phase - before measuring, machining, polishing, cleaning & nursing. Note it's rather dirty also. I would never install an engine part that is that dirty.
