I would PM Glassman, but I thought others might want this information as well so here goes. I accidently ripped my rearview mirror and the metal piece it attaches to off my windshield this morning and wanted to know what`s the BEST adhesive to reattach the metal to the glass. Temperatures here range from -40 to 100 F so crazy glue is not an option!!

Locktite makes a small cleaner/adhesive kit specifically for this purpose. It should be at the local parts store or glass shop.

Sometimes when the original piece is "incorrectly" removed from the glass, the glass will fracture and have an uneven surface remaining. Be sure to check this.

Is best to re-attach to a smooth, flat undamaged area as those glues do not fill-in well.

Absolutely ONLY get the adhesive that is designed to reattach the rearview mirror PERIOD!

I just went thru this a few months back and I failed on my first attemp with epoxy. I then got the right stuff and thats that!

I asked him that question, and this is the stuff he recommends:
http://www.amazon.com/Loctite-03346-Rearview-Mirror-Adhesive/dp/B00065T19U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1341174511&sr=8-2&keywords=loctite+rear+view+mirror+adhesive

I ended up doing with a two-part rear view mirror adhesive, not the exact stuff in the link above, and so far it is holding.
