Spout Plug & Oil Fill Cap

Hey all, I'm looking for the spout pill(?) we are missing one that fell out of the plug due to the broken tabs on the harness.

2nd. item is the oil fill cap, it leaks like crazy.. This is all for an 86 SVO.

I have an extra fill cap. Could you describe what you mean by leaking? I'm only asking because I had that issue recently also.

The spout pill is common to all (distributor ignition) Mustangs up till at least 93? Available at almost any junkyard. And the oil fill cap can be had from your favorite local auto parts house. Made by Stant for the 2.3 N/A engine without the vent in the cap.

Sometimes the seal (rubber) on the oil fill cap is SO HARD (from heat) that it is mistaken for being all plastic!

I don't know if it is serviced and getting the RIGHT oil cap for year cars is getting hard too!

I believe that an ATC-30 type automotive fuse will hold you over until you find the original style replacement Spout.

Forced4 used to have them (the SPOUT connector pill).

I just bought oil filler caps from Rockauto. The Stant BSO 87 rubbber seal was so hard I couldn't compress it enough to get the cap on. Wound up belt sanding it enough to get it on. These were on close out. They also have another brand that I would suggest trying over the Stant on close out! FYI I took the rubber seal off the new one and put it on my stock Ford cap!

Desert Patina - The oil is leaking past the flanged part on the cap at the rubber gasket that sits against the valve cover, pretty wierd it seems to leak that much..

Mark - Yeah, I checked a bunch of auto parts places around here and it's not even shown on their computers. I was hoping to keep from hitting the junkyards, but that might be the only option.

Patrick - I'm going to try the fuse trick for now.

i cut out the distributor goods from a wrecked 88 2.3 and updated my 85.

OK, I used a piece of 14 ga. home wiring to make a temp jumper - car runs great! I ordered the oil cap per brsvo's advice and I should see it in a few days, yippie lol.
