Cold Air Intake Options

So, I went to look at Forced4's website, and noticed that they had closed. Yeah, I'm probably way behind the times, but I was looking for a cold air intake and was planning on eventually getting that one. Well, now I don't know where another one would be. I know some people have had pretty good luck with bolting on a K&N Filter, but I don't know how this was done, and if there was a way to get nice smooth bends in the intake tube this way. Right now, I just have a drop in K&N Filter element. I'm assuming that while this is better flowing than stock, like any other car, nice smooth bends and a better filter will flow even better. Any input regarding an intake would be appreciated.

All you really need is the part that attaches to the fender. 50resto has the cold air kit with a cheap filter for like 75$

Forced 4 had been out of their cold air kits for a while. I bought their last one back in June. It was the heat shield type setup but did not come with another intake tube. Are you talking about that style or the one that locates the filter element inside the fender?

I was talking about the one they had that came with the flex hose eliminator, or at least that's what I remember it being called anyways. I would like an intake tube though, that comes with smoother bends and without the ribbed flex hose. I hadn't looked for awhile, but I knew that was the kit that I wanted. So it would come with a heat shield more than likely for the filter. I'm not worried about the actual filter element. I am going to try to go with an AEM dryflow filter for the advantages that it has. I know that you can get the DIY universal fit parts from pretty much any auto parts store, but that route would likely lead to a very complicated system that has too many bends, or so many joints that it wouldn't be overly beneficial. I'd prefer to get one that is more or less custom fit for an SVO. But so far, I haven't found anything. I also couldn't find the kit mentioned above from 50/late model.

I got ya. The flex hose eliminator was an option with their kit. When I bought mine they were out of them. My flex hose was in good shape so not a huge deal although I did get a metal sleeve with bung for my bypass valve.

Yeah, unfortunately it's looking like I'll have to make one, and that might required some welding. I was trying to avoid that. I'm not usually one to shy away from a project, but sometimes buying something is worth the smaller headache. That's just one of the things that comes with old and rare cars though.
