Has it been done any pics. The reason I ask is the prices on these lights are so expensive. Has anyone modified the bumper headlight bracket for 87-93 lights. Btw I'm not trying to start any fights just want some feedback is all. I want to keep my factory hood and bumper just make life easier for me in the long run since I never plan to sell her.

84-85 SVO's use the same mounting hardware and lights as the Aerostar van, which should be readily available in the wrecking yards. That may be a more simple route to take if you can't get the 85.5-86 flush mount parts that you need.

There are plenty of people with the parts you need
Just put a wanted ad out there .....Yes they are more expensive but they look right
there have been some SVO's on e-bay with 87-93 lights but iirc they had the newer hood too

Late Model restoration has the head lights for about $100 each and are a high quality made on the original Ford tooling and fit perfect.Yes they are a little expensive but they make the car look awesome

To answer your question, no, the standard Fox front light package will not fit in the SVO bumper cover assembly openings. Completely different bumper cover and hood.

I don't see these lights listed anymore, are they still being reproduced?

i (http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/LRS-13200E/84-86-Ford-Mustang-SVO-RH-Park-Light) dont think they offered the middle lights, just the outsides and insides... looking on my slow work computer i can only find the outer right.

i beleive the legend goes a svo hoarder took a shipment of Left parking lights for himself, then set the machine, building, and the original tools on fire destroying everything in the process. This is the reason why the lefts do not exist. i think.

The right front outer was the holy grail. now you can purchase repops of the lenses from Bigrivens.

I'm just trying to figure out what is still available and what is not. So from what I can gather the right outer marker lense only is being reproduced by biggrgivens@hotmail.com for $195 shipped, the left outer is not available from Ford or reproduced. The inner markers are being reproduced but not available from Ford; it appears that different vendors sell reproductions and there is a vendor on ebay that sells the inner pair together but what I don't understand is why there is such a difference in price, the vendor on ebay is selling a pair of inner markers for $95 but latemodelrestoration wants $85 for the right side only. As far as the 85.5-86 flush headlights it appears that the reproductions are no longer available and the originals are no longer available (right now there is a vendor on ebay that claims to have 2 right hand NOS headlights for $99.99).
Does that about sum it up?

Is this true? The right outer marker lens has been reproduced? Where have I been? Please link me up!

The clear outer and amber side reflector lenses only, NOT the whole lamp assembly.

Other than the clear outer lense the rest of the remanufactured lights are done by Daniel Carpenter. He was given the moulds from Ford. One pice of one light on the outers was missing when he got the moulds and he has not done any of the outers. The inners and the 85.5 and 86 headlights were done by him. He also did the svo bumper covers and has done the 84 bumper covers. All from Ford tooling.

Yes I emailed biggrgivens@hotmail.com and he emailed back that he had the right side outer marker lenses only, clear outer and amber reflector, for $195 shipped. In an email he said these were what Forced4 was selling. I don't know the person at all, I got the contact info off FEP, I assume he is legit.

That's the way I understand it too but for what ever reason it appears the headlights are no longer available.

The batch he reproduced ran out. Maybe he will do some more.

I hope so. I naively thought that all the front lights were being reproduced in one form or another but found out otherwise. With the SVO if something becomes available you better grab it because it may not be around for long. Guess I better hurry up and buy leather seat covers before TMI quits making them!

I already did that. I have TMI seat covers for all the cars I have with leather interior. I also bought up a bunch of the 84 single to dual tail pipes. They have also been discontinued. Carpenter has not made any more of the svo bumper covers either after the first run. I really wish he would make some more of them too.

Chip is a top notch guy. I got in on the first run of the outer when he was working on getting the mold made.

Does anyone know how this individual may be contacted or if there is another lead on getting replacement headlights? Thanks.

He only sells to dealers and he is sold out. If you can find a dealer that still has some or check e-bay.

Thank you for the quick response. I'll guess I'll have to keep tabs on trying to look for some. I'll have to do my best to try and restore the original ones. How difficult would it be switching over to the 84-85 style headlights?

Find an early 80's escort In a junk yard. It will have everything you need.

Have this pic of the tooling for the drivers side. The passenger side tooling was damaged before it reached Daniel Carpenters.

Thanks guys, but Mitch is right, I'm not quite right in the head, I seem to buy/aquire/trade/barter for some of most cosmetically challenged junk you can think of.

And I'm not a body guy, WTF :/

Ok, but yes I do take a lot of picture, yes I'm a picture whore, mainly cause everyone likes to look at pictures, so I take and post them up, so here you go...............

This is the link to the so called hood thread, careful it 8 pages of pictures, you might burn your eyes out:

The pictures don't seem to be showing up for me but I'm sure the work is great and I'd be interested to check it out when the links are fixed.

I'm having some thoughts about recreating the lenses myself as I've seen some threads elsewhere on how to do it.
