We will be introducing Flat Bob 2.0, 'Bigger, Badder, Flatter' & Coming to a car show near you late Spring 2013.

Flat Bob 3.0 is also in the works, but I think its going to be a Big Flat Flop. Expect to see 3.0 go straight to VHS.

I'm actually gonna try to make it this year. I'll need lodging info and the number to that SVO rental place in California. I'd fly into WA but that would mean driving down with Mitch and there's not enough broccoli and crab cakes in all of New England to counteract his beer farts.

Meotchh
12-03-2012, 08:58 PM
We'll put together the lodging details in late January.

I am planning on heading down for the week rather than just a weekend. I'll have plenty time to build up a reserve of farts to share with all! A week of beer & bacon should hit the spot...

That or hijack Saleen on his way to the crapper and make him sign autographs for SVOCOP donations this time. Last year we let him by for free.

i think i may come out this year. i was there two years ago, but did not bring my car. i believe i met Pat and Bob there.

how much of a fifth wheel would i be if i brought a car in poor paint condition? it's mostly a nice straight body, only cosmetic damage is a small tear in the front bumper, and of course old, dull paint. at least it's gray paint.

MikeFleming
01-14-2013, 07:56 PM
We can slap a paint job on it Saturday at Vince's.

You have a color preference?

Bob Holmes
01-14-2013, 08:46 PM
Stott, my "hoser" was a complete rag. I don't even think it had the interior in it back then. I had to stop and buy earplugs an hour into the drive because it was so ridiculously loud. Bring the car.

Bring it!!!! I took the Wonder Beater before she got here new clothes. Back then she had primer "racing stripes" and a 9W bumper cover which still had "84" in yellow junkyard paint pen in the middle.

I'll be there for sure, not sure which car will make the trip though, and Mitch, you may be delivering some black parts to Flat Bob on your way theough. We'll talk.

OK i'll bring it! should be good to go by april.

mike, it's a 9W car. my goal is to eventually paint it pepper grey metallic, like the grey eleanor (i love that grey color, not so much the eleanor bodykit)

STOTT...if you let Bob paint the car, be sure to keep Pat away until the paint dries otherwise you will have thumb prints on every body panel.

... be sure to keep Pat away until the paint dries otherwise you will have thumb prints on every body panel. I thought Patrick thumb prints were and added-cost option? Think fundraiser.

Or was it payment to NOT have fingerprints? I forget.

i'll pay to avoid the thumb prints.

preferably matching body panels!

Alright you buzzards, I paid my $35 and am signed up. And I don't even have a car to take. So get off your duffs and sign up.

You have to go through Facebook for the early sign-up. So those of you less adept at social media than our mascot Pat may have to wait for a while before it shows up on the FFF website.

Or was that a different car show?

We need to get started on setting up activities for this event. Another car excursion, go-karting, BBQ...I'll do the BBQ at my place on Saturday. If we want to do the go-karts then we need to either plan it for another day or first thing when they open up on Saturday. Last year was a bust on the karting becuase to long of a wait.

I have an idea to do a Turnbull canyon run/photo shoot. Turnbull Canyon is a great canyon run not to far from my place in Fullerton. I basically lived and nearly died in that place. Google Earth it, Turnbull Canyon Road, Whittier, CA. We can setup some camera's around some turns and get some great shots. Do this as an early Saturday morning event, then do go-karting then some car fixin' then some food and beer fixin.

I am torn between the ease of driving a car there (1E) and trailering the race car. If you can find another car to drive in then I'll take the 1E. If you cant find another car but have a entry and need a car, I can trailer the race car to let you drive my 1E in but I would much rather drive in the 1E.

Mitch, might be Saturday morning or Friday night, not sure yet.

Vince, drive your 1E mate:):):)

Really just looking for controllers to add to my supply of spares. I try to grab them from the yards when I find them. I use them to refurbish inop controllers that are not burned up.
We can make a tech session out of it. I've got notes on about 90% of the measurements. Do you have a harness you are willing to sacrafice? I'm working on a test jig & a harness from a car would be helpful. I don't need the entire harness, only the plug with 12" of a pig tail. What are your plans for the one in Blackie?

Patrick

So do we have an official list of events for the week/weekend yet? Also a who's attending those events? I'm thinking about doing a google doc so we can all plan accordingly.

Here is a link to the google doc

There is no official list.
MIB (the black car owners) prefers that we remain incogneto.
The usual historical get togethers still apply (Tech day, Bob's, Starbucks, Vince's awesome BBQ).
We can try an automotive museum tour somewhere in there if it can be put together.

Well I'm not going to make it this year. I will do my best to make it out next year. The good news is the wife wants to make the trip so it should be easier next year. Still on the hope to list for Sturgis we will have to see.

Well, things got started here in SoCal. I've had a good dozen SVO and Mach-1 visitors dropping in, on their way in to town for the last two days. We got some work done on (in?) the driveway, and Bonnie provided snacks and dinner. More updates to come.
