So I have a source for a nice 8.8 rear end assembly with an auburn locker, c clip eliminators, and 3.55 gears. The issue is the rear end is drum and has 31 spline axles. Is there any aftermarket axles I can buy that will allow me to use the factory discs? Will the disc assemblies bolt on without a need for an axle change?

Depends on the axles that are in there. The brake caliper brackets will mount directly to the 8.8 housing with no problem. The length of the axles will determine if the stock rotors will line up properly with the calipers. So it totally dependso n the axle length.

Note that most c-clip eliminatora re for straight-line use only and NOT recommended for road course or auto-x appications

I have no interest in autocross or road racing hence why I was interested in the axle assembly. Is there a way to check axle length short of pulling them out? I should probably just ask. All I know is they are a set of toms kickass axles.

Someone here probably had the measurement of how far the SVO wheel flange is from the housing. I don't have it handy, sorry.

Just measure the width from drum surface to drum surface, subtract 0.995" and divide by two. That will be the length of each axle.

Jack, I see the time on your post. I appreciate your dedication, but maybe you should get some sleep. ;)

Thanks guys. I ended up grabbing the rear because it was a really good deal. I guess I will just have to order another set of axles.

You might call Moser and have them whittle you a set of SVO length axles with 31 splines. I got my stock length/spline axles from them a few years ago.

Yeah I figured that what was going to have to happen at this point. Sell the current set in it to cover some of the cost.
