Help! I need a clutch with a decreased pedal effort

I tore my achilles tendon a few years ago and it has really never fully healed. Is there any way I can get a clutch with a decreased pedal effort? Anyone know of an aftermarket clutch that will give me a decreased pedal effort? With my achilles injury, the stock clutch just kills my achilles every time I press the clutch pedal. Mcleod makes a hydraulic conversion kit. Don't know about effort but it's out there and bring your checkbook. >$500

I know that the hydraulic setup from a TC has been done. The parts are readily available from the TCs. I picked up the parts over on TF awhile back. It had EVERYTHING, the pedal assembly, slave and master cylinders and lines. It had all the nuts and bolts with it and it was only $30. I am doing a hybrid conversion of the two in the next few months using the McLeod and some of the TC parts. I couldn't tell you how it feels though as I have never driven a TC.

After having an 87 TC for more than a decade as a DD, the pedal effort is about the same as the SVO's cable system - assuming good cables.

New clutches (thicker disc) move the mechanical leverage out more so pedal effort is light when the disc is thick and steadily increases as the disc wears. Just install a new stock clutch and go from there. When it wears enough to get too heavy on the pedal, replace the disc.

Likely your pressure plate is stiff from heat !

I used many different brands ANY when new and not over heated will be a world of a difference than what you have now.

P.S. I actually like CenterForce II on stock SVO's. IF this was a higher HP/very high launch RPM car I wouldn't suggest any weighted PP. (You also need to know NOT to use them on "old style" Fords with Z bar fulcrums)

I believe Maximum Motorsports sells a little thing to lengthen the clutch pedal as suggested above.

The only little thing we sell for a clutch is a kit that allows the pedal to be lowered some. This doesn't affect the mechanical ratio if the clutch linkage, so the effort stays the same.

If you want to reduce the pedal effort, the first questions are, what clutch diameter do you have, what torque capacity is required and how much thermal capacity is needed?
