Hello and Happy Holidays to all,

If anyone is in the Philly to Baltimore area, I am looking for a machine shop with 2.3 turbo head experience. My valve seals are going on my 121K '86 1C and I was thinking about stepping up the performance. I am not looking to go crazy with porting & valve sizes. Was thinking in the 300hp range. Something like the Boport stage 1 would fit my budget but the site still says only the stage 3 is available. Does anyone know about the Racer Walsh head? Is that a non-tubo head? I would think I would be better off to have my head rebuild than go to a non-turbo head but please let me know if that's not the case.

thanks,

jack

Welcome Jack! Before you do anything, have the head magnafluxed and look for cracks. It's a fairly cheap service. If the stage 3 boport is out of the budget you can check with Killian on the East coast. They do nice work.

Yes, if you are looking for porting on the east coast, contact http://killiansportingservice.com/ in Warner Robbins, GA. He does work on par with Bo if you don't want to ship to CA. Although, Bo has some tried & proven cams that are hard to beat. Killian has quick turn around & uses the same flow bench as Bo.
