Can someone tell me where this connector goes? It is coming out of carpet near console on drivers side.

What year is the car? An SVO? Is it coming out of the tunnel area (like it goes to a gearbox connection on the other side)?

The only actual connection to the gearbox is the backup/reverse light switch. However there is another two-wire loop that is the starter interlock bypass - if an auto gearbox was ever installed to work as the neutral switch.

Looks like the seat belt buckle switch for the warning lamp.

On my 84, that section came across from the far left with the fuel pump relay and parking brake light switch harness stub. Looks like the male side of this:

I have the same connector in the tunnel area, driver's side. There is nothing connected to it.

I, too, noticed this on the floor of my 85.5. Mine is embedded in the insulation/sealer. It is unused.
