Some day, I'm going to put in either a turbo charged 2.3 Duratec or the straight EcoBoost in my 89 (that I might retro with SVO frontend). When I do, I'm contemplating using a water-to-air intercooler.

For now I can only assume it involves a water pump, water lines, and two heat transfer points; a fmic and the inline ic. Any basic info anyone knows ... good books and such? I saw someone who posted a intercooler heat transfer comparison chart that had (perhaps) an allusion to converting the turbocoupe intercooler to water...?

Just musing over something I might plan for 5 years out or so...

I start every journey admitting I know absolutely nothing about this, and that's usually where I end up too :)

Henson did it to his SVO using mostly parts from a cobra and lightining. He used an intercooler from a vortech
it was a complicated setup but he felt it did a great job

The Hubes have a similar setup on their [drag] race car. Some coolant circulates between the front air/liquid exchanger and a rather large ice box in the spate tire well in the rear.
