Project old fart - motor mounts and dampners

I need some help with motor mounts for the SVO. I have been running turbochuck mounts for years now and am tired of the vibration. Does anyone have pictures of the stock SVO motor mounts? Is this what they look like? Am I missing any parts (besides bolts)?

I thought I read on this site that rockauto has the replacement rubber isolators and one of them has a fitment problem, but I can't find that post. Any advise? Left side is listed as ANCHOR Part # 2480 and right side is ANCHOR Part # 2481 according to rockauto.

Does anyone have photos of where the engine dampners are mounted? I would like to run those as well. I have one good dampner, but need another one. Anyone got a good used dampner (long shot, I know)?

Chris, they look correct and I just cross checked on the Oreilly's page and 2480 and 2481 are the correct part numbers. Here's a pic of the dampers. The part number for the dampers is the same but the top mounts that attatch to the engine are side specific and different. I have a spare set if you need them.

As I remember, the Anchor motor mounts use a different thread nut on the mounting bolts where they mount to the crossmember. Metric vs American.

I believe that is correct. Although, if I recall, on one side the stock nut worked fine, on the other side it didn't.

Thanks for the confirmation guys. Motor mounts ordered. Next task, torque strap. I was thinking of using an axle strap and was just at a big swap meet yesterday...dang.

Project old fart complete. I added a 14" torque strap to the driver's side of the engine to keep the motor mounts happy. http://rothfam.com/svo/torquestrap/

I did order from RockAuto, no nuts included with mounts and I had the ChuckW mounts on there so I went to my large bucket of Ford bolts and nuts to find nuts that would work. I don't know if they were original or not, sorry.

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and am the original owner of a 1985 SVO. I have the turbochuck motor mounts and also want to return to the stock units. I have everything needed, I just need photos or schematics so I can re-install with the new NOS motormounts. Can anyone help? Also, anywhere to get the original SVO engine dampers rebuilt? Here's a few detail shots of the mount bracket and mounts installed. BTW - These motor mount brackets were powder-coated gloss black.

Also note that the dampers attach to the block in the rear of the mounts.

Note that I did not use the engine dampers (and brackets) on this build. Also note that the turbo support bracket goes directly on the block on the bottom. The right (exhaust) side damper upper mount, a casting, goes to the two bolt holes inside the red circle in the pic below. The rear most one is where the turbo support brace goes - the damper brakcet goes OVER the support brace and mount bracket, and uses longer bolts than shown here.
