after installing the struts, spindles, arms, steering rack, and the new outer tie rod ends it's looking like my steering is pretty pigeon toed.

i could probably remedy it by unscrewing the outer tie rod ends significantly, but then the remaining thread engagement might be too small.

are there different tie rod ends i need to get?

i bought the steering rack with inner tie rod ends included, it's probably made for the regular ford performance handling vehicles (fox length) not SVO length.

are there replacement inner tie rod ends that are recommended for our setup, and longer than typical fox tie rods?

any advice appreciated,

THANKS!!!!

Iirc the SVO tie rod ends are longer in the threaded area.

I used a standard Perf rack many years ago and just swapped voer the tierod ends to meet the approx same Bj-Bj center-center length.

Then when I installed all the MM & SN95 stuff I used the MM bump steer kit that has LOTS of thread engagement.

You may have likely bought the wrong steering rack. Check the overall length (end to end) before returning the old core. I've done many rack swaps and never had a problem, but I double checked before installing.

I have seen a few manual rack swap attempts that ended up having only a few threads of engagement once the toe-in was correct.

i don't think so,

it's actually been confirmed to work before http://www.svocop.com/forum/showthread.php?684-Rack-and-Pinion&p=4478&viewfull=1#post4478

it's a regular power steering rack.

i think that if the overall length is shorter, which it should be based on the pigeon toe condition, then it's due to the inner tie rod ends not being long enough.

the outer tie rod ends i have are specific to the SVO. i'm wondering what the length is of the correct inner tie rod ends so i can verify that next.
