Hey guys, can someone post a pic of where the rotor position should be with the timing marks lined up at TDC? Thank you in advance

And I thought this was about brake rotors!

The dist rotor should point to where the no 1 spark plug wire goes in the cap. If you use the default location the caps are usually marked for no 1

You really need to eye ball the Distributor to right before #1, ensure #1 piston is at TDC, and your cam timing marks are right.

it should start up well enough to check timing. We can tell you all day #1 should be near the outside bolt on the intake (if its an 84/85), but if the rest of your stuff isnt anywhere near where it should be you will be chasing timing issues.

LOL you were getting ready to tell me this belongs in the brake section

That or I was gonna give my usual speech on [brake] rotor alignment, balancing and changing the air in the tyres.

Should be right after #1 at TDC, remember that there is advance. Frankly, set it straight up and it'll fire, then adjust as necessary to get to your spout out 10* advance.
