Dust Boots Replacement

I replaced the front springs last weekend and noted that the dust boots on my ball joints were bad. I thought I remember someone replacing the dust boots with those from a poopy truck or something but memory could be playing tricks on me.....any advice would be appreciated.

Might anyone have the torque specifications for the spindle nuts on the lower ball joint? I replaced the dust boots and searched here and the internet and found one site that stated "150#" (assuming that meant lb's), which seems like a wee bit too much to me. BTW, just incase I am using the incorrect name by calling it a spindle nut, it is the nut that secures the lower arm to the ball joint - the one with the cotter pin.

So are you talking about the castle nut on top of the ball joint?

The a-arm-to-spindle ball joint nut should go to 45 Ft-Lbs. I don't remember if stock ball joint stud is castle-ated and takes a cotter pin or not. If yes, the go to 45, then tighten enough (more) to fit the pin.

The lower a-arm to k-frame bolt/nut goes to 148 Ft-Lbs. The spindle-to-strut bolt/nut also go to 148 Ft-Lbs.

Iirc the sway bar end link goes to 15 ft-Lbs.
