Sturgis Mustang Rally 2013 Accommodations

It’s time again, to begin preparations for SMR. I would like to return again to the same place we were in last year. Those that were there can attest to how much fun we had just at the house alone. We had a two car garage with a nice clean, cool & flat floor to work on. There was ample driveway space to park an additional 4 SVOs for simple maintenance & cleaning. It was just as affordable if not more so than staying in a hotel. The peaceful quite surroundings made it seem more homely than any hotel would have. Most of all, the wives gave it their approval:like3:.

Right now I am looking for a head count for who is going this year. The house can sleep 16, but I would rather not have more than 14. If there enough people planning on going, we can look into a second house or possibly a larger place. They have some that sleep up to 25, but they are further from Sturgis.

Things worked out great last year, but I will pass on being the taker of the money this year. The plan is to reserve the place & have the leasing agency bill each party individually. That means, everyone that is on the list will be directly billed in advance from the leasing agency, taking me out of the loop. Should we have people decide at the last minute to join in, if there is space, we will work out a plan for those folks to pay their share to each of the guests that paid in advance. Those coming in last minute would also have last pick on which bedroom they are in. Of course, this will have to be approved by all prepaying guests. Oh & Pat may require a bottle of Patron for the Margaritaville.

If you are planning on going & would like to be on the list for the rental house, please reply to this post with your headcount & number of vehicles you will be bringing (please include trailer count).


There are also hotels available for those that would prefer to go that route. A list of participating hotels can be found on the SMR website.

I'm gonna try to make it, can't make any real commitment just yet. Maybe just me, maybe me, Melissa, Kaitlyn, Mom and Dad, motorhome+ svo. Still to early to know for sure.

Planning to come to Sturgis this year, heard good things about last year. Will drive the SVO if I get alot of work done to get her reliable if that is possible and ready for the autocross, otherwise will drive my Mustang GT (RED).

Accomodations are reserved at the same house as last year http://secure.executive-lodging.com/RNS/search/HighStakes.aspx. We are getting the same rate as last year for being a repeat customer. As it stands, I have 14 people accounted for. I would like to keep the head count at this house to 5 couples / 12 people max. Though the house can sleep 16, more ppl make the bathroom conditions a little challenging. There are a few other folks that are on the fence, but that would bring the head count to 17 or 18. Now there is a second house within view of the current house http://secure.executive-lodging.com/rns/search/MollysFolly.aspx. The second house is cheaper than the first (Do not go by the online pricing). I am getting a better rate by calling in & speaking with a specific agent.

I have started an email list for those that have said they are going. I still need an email address for Tommy B.

If there are more people that are sure they want to go, have them reply to this post. We would like to have more SVOs entered into the autocross. Our goal is to sweep the sweet 16 with all SVOs. Though it will be very dificult to compete with the late model fox that has won the event all 6 years.
