Head gasket choices

I am looking for opinions which head gasket to buy, and bolts for that matter. Getting a Bo port stage 3 with 2.1 cam, 160K stock bottom end (only till next year hopefully).

The 8993 HG is fine. The stock bolts are good too. I also will use the copper HG but with that mileage stick with what works and that's the 8993.

I agree with Tony. 8993 is fine, just make sure your tune is fine.

I just got off the phone with the local Ford dealer and they told me $44 each for stock head bolts!! Couldn't beleive that so I called another and was told the same thing. Any other suggestions? Don't know about the quality of NAPA or Bummper to Bummper.

Give ARP a call. Tell them what it's for and they should have something for you.

ARP makes a stud kit 151-4202 but it doesn't look like they make regular bolts. With your set up I would go with the studs.

The original head bolts for our engine were a torque angle type. The later bolts were TTY or torque to yield.( these bolts were torqued to a specific value and then to an angle) The TTY bolts were generally a one time usage and not retorqued. ARP has several kits. The first are the ARP 151-4202 (tel:151-4202). These are a head studs that are straight shanked. The second ARP set are undercut 151-4702 (tel:151-4702). The third set that have become popular is the undercut 204-4706 (tel:204-4706). These are actually made for the VW TDI and are made from their ARP 2000 material.

Thought I would add that generally the stock bolts are a 6 sided head bolt and the TTY is 12 sided.
