Sounds Nice, engine bay looks a bit different from the last time I saw the car. It's come a long way.

I'm going to assume that you and (DAD?) got it together ! Do you see where he gives it the YES! (after running a bit) !!
Kind of funny - walking around with a 10mm wrench (at least he know the size many bolts are).

Have fun at the track ! I'm sure you have lots to do. Don't have enough info on motor build, if broken in or if you are using track time to do that or if it is sorted and you just have to do little track prep touches (to keep from losing track time) sealing power steering pump, DOT 5 in brakes etc etc

Took the car to Atlanta Motorsport Park for the weekend. Friday was not bad, made laps on the track but spent time also fixing little things throughout the day. Saturday was not the good day, started the day by replacing a vacuum hose that had a hole in it from the day before. After the drivers meeting, started her up so she could warm up before I hit the track. Took her out on the track for the 2 warm up caution laps and then in the second warm up lap something in the top end came loose. Right now I'm having a beer or 6. Updated info to follow after I get her opened back up.

Probably spit out a follower, whip that valve cover off, slip it back in there and go at it again!

That really sucks Dave, but you're gonna have to pop off the valve cover & let us know what you find. As Jeff mentioned, it may be something simple.

Dad's aware of how the day went. He'll be gone for back surgery next week, but Mark should be able to help you out if you need to bring the head back in.

Dave, it was great to see you and the car again... sorry to hear that Saturday didn't go well, was really hoping you had it all figured out when I left Friday PM.

As others have said, hopefully nothing major...;)

It was good seeing you also and your car is looking good. Took the valve cover off today to see if anything was loose or missing, rolled the engine over a couple times and everything looks like it is working fine. Now I'm wondering if its the bottom end.

Drain the oil & look for debris.

Was there any resistance when you were turning it over?

Ouch, hopefully its something simple or relatively inexpensive to fix.....

Let me start off by saying that Frank from Frank's Head & Engine Service (Griffin, GA) is one heck of a guy. I highly recommend using him for any work you want to have done. After countless hours with him on the phone, all his information and knowledge is first rate. When I got the car home from the track and finally got it off the trailer the rattling sound seemed like it was coming from the head. I replaced all the lifters and it still rattled. Come to find out that the bottom end bearings were completely wasted so I was not getting enough oil to the head to keep the lifters oiled up. Replaced the bottom end and reinstalled Frank's head and it runs as good as new. Now I'm just waiting for some more track time to see what this car will do.

I would also like to say thanks to Mitch and Mark for there time and knowledge as well.

This is good to hear. I never popped to top on that motor. It originates from Gatorland and by that I mean Cleveland Ohio. :)
Gator had a long story behind this car. Some of it is written in the Registry.

I wanted this car so bad. I could finally afford it now haha. I hate bad timing.
