Now that my SVO is cosmetically appealing inside and out it is time to go thru the mechanicals (maybe this is ass backwards?) I haven't seen her for literally 6 mos. Here is what I know: Rear diff oil and modifier done by me 2 days ago. Clutch, flywheel and input shaft done last week. When I filled her with gas it leaked, I believe that the o ring from filler tube to tank is bad (do you use non-ethanol gas?). Also I get a shuttering under load from stop light to about 3000 RPM. I feel this could be bad gas? I have no idea when the timing belt was done last, odometer reads 35000. wires look relatively new, not sure about plugs and rotor, etc. She seems to run fine at higher RPM and ran fine 6 mos ago before paint. Idle is occasionally rough too. I have flushed the radiator. converted the AC to R134. Brakes look fine. Had the front wheels aligned too. Bearings seem good. Drive line is making noise at various RPM mostly in 3rd gear but I think this could be part of the fuel issue? So that I don't reinvent the wheel what do you all suggest I do to got thru her mechanically to restore her? Step by step, I have plenty of time. Also I don't know squat about these motors I am assuming they are non interference? All suggestions welcomed please be kind.

The timing belt is easy once you know the tricks, its also easy to screw up by 1-3 teeth. If you dont have any records of when something was done then do it, especially the wires, cap, rotor, tfi, plugs, etc.

once apon a time my gas tank leaked on a slight incline from one of the fuel pump /gauge seals so i would check those as well.
