Leaking Injector solution?

Ok I followed the ancient SVO doctors cookbook for injector replacement (awesome recipe). Got the new injectors in and the #1 is leaking under 10psi pressure. I oiled the O-rings lightly prior to install, injectors rotate freely etc. They feel like they are in. Any tricks to stop the leak, I am not a mechanic but I slept at a holiday inn last night? Leak is where injector enters the block (combustion chamber) bottom side of injector.

Swap o rings with another and see if it still does it
Ensure no debris are in the hole which your injector inserts
Try applying more pressure to the rail and injector before tightening down the rail screws

You mean the injector is leaking petrol on the lower body portion? Or at the o-ring seal into the intake manifold?

If the plastic-to-metal joint on the injector is leaking, you will need to replace it. It will not fix itself and pressurized fuel leaks are not as much fun as they sound. Along with being a serious fire risk.

I don't recall ever seeing fuel leak from the lower o-ring seal back to the outer manifold. area Most of the time that are is under a vacuum, which would draw extra unmetered air into the a cylinder (test with starter spray). When the manifold is under boost, ir would leak out. It's *possible* for petrol to come out with that same air, but it would be very remote.

Most of the leaks where there is liquid petrl on the manifold lower surfaces comes from the top o-ring to the fuel rail or the metal-to-plastic body joint on the injector itself. Engage the fuel pump with the Self-Test connector and start feeling around the injector bodies for leaks.

And, as always, pre-place the fire bottles in the escape path.

Appears to be leaking from lower o ring first injector. No vacuum just power on fuel pressure. I see a drip down where the forward bolt for the engine hoist plate attaches to the block? Is this normal and goes away under running condition with vacuum?

Simple enough: replace lower o-ring, clean the area, retest.

Simple enough: replace lower o-ring, clean the area, retest.upon removal of injector 1 to replace o ring and clean hole I noticed injector is leaking above o ring. New part made in USA go figure! :mad:

You are, of course, lubing the O-ring before insertion...

You are, of course, lubing the O-ring before insertion...but of course, I always use lube before insertion!
