What are the threads on the stock shifter for the svo, I was thinking about a different knob but I dont know the thread size for an adapter bushing.

Mike will no doubt chime in but the SVO's are metric and the others are American, that's all I know for sure. You can buy the arm they thread onto and just install that it would be easier.

pretty sure they're all metric. every shift knob i have is interchangeable among the SVO and all other T5 mustangs. it's a 12mm x 1.75

OK then the Kirban shifter I bought for my 86 must have came with their arm (for their handle) because it was for a 5.0 and had American threads. I still have the arm if anybody needs it.

That is why I asked the thread size, because I thought the SVO's had a metric thread and the t-5 from GT's and such are standard.
I guess because of the Hurst shifters in the SVO's.

The vertical shaft running from the shifter (the one that's mounted in the rubber isolator using two bolts) is what has the knob thread on it. Not the shifter (which mounts to the top, rear of the gearbox with (4) 8mm bolts and has that plastic round thingie in the bottom) or gearbox.

Yes, the SVO piece uses a different (metric) thread.
