1984 US SVO with an 86 Canada dash!?!??!

I have just started pulling some thing apart on the interior cuz many know that my car has had many mice in it (Pulled another one from under the dash actually) so I'm trying to destroy the smell. WELL I pulled out the dash pad and behold what I find in the pictures! :)

If someone could tell me what this is also? It was plugged in but the ground was unhooked, me and my dads logical guess is that it's the amplifier? Well it's pulled out atm cuz it had mouse guts on it

LOL! He was trying to sell that thing for 11 years even AFTER making it the best he could? Well he did a poor job at cleaning the thing out to say the least. I'm going to have to drive the car without a dash pad or cover for a while until I get the money for a new one. My spare one was just as nasty and smelly as the old one. I've located at least 3 mice already and a nest, there's still smell in the seats from the smoking and I'm sure there's more in the dash I haven't gotten to yet. I've spent too much money on the cars this year unfortunately and I need to do body work on some new doors and put them on and paint them still so I can't get into this project yet :/ rough year for cars...can't even get the urge to wash the darn things

That would also explain the messed up paint on my front drivers side fender, the jacked up spacing with the doors (thus needing new ones on top of the rust on the old ones) the horrible done bondo on the hood and the crack in the front clip...What have I gotten myself into :/

You've gotten yourself into a giant ball of twine that keeps unraveling! Hang in there! Some people shouldn't be allowed to ever touch a car with any tool, sounds like previous owner was a real hack.
