Not sure how in a standardized race league such as NASCAR at a restrictor plate race jimmy Johnson's car is so much faster than the pack? Maybe these guys know?

Yeah because they, once wrecked WORK with saws all's and bear bond to get the car back on the track and gain points against their opponents?
It is the only form of auto racing that allows the driver to enter a corner with so many variables that the next time they have changed so many times that the last lap info isn't relevant! (Then they have to do that 1600 times in a race) Try going offline or off track with an F1 car!

P.S. Even picking a wife in NASCAR is hard ! Look at the how you are judged against the competition!

Like I said...the WWF of auto sports!
I've driven in and now work corners/safety for SCCA, IMSA, USAC, going back to the 60's. Real racers, you know, those guys that turn both ways, brake & change gears every lap and in the rain too and don't get full course yellows every time someone spins or blows a tire, or to bunch up the field for a good TV finish.
I would rather watch spec Miata's than one of the current NASCAR races.

does'nt it seem odd that with as many teams that use cars, motors and drive line parts from hendrix that they seem to be unable to run with johnson. even the other three hendrix cars can't run with him. throw in the fact that knaus has been caught and fined numerous times for cheating. it would seem that if hendrix pulled out his cars and support for nascar that nascar would go belly up.
now i cant accuse or prove that hendrix is cheating or being allowed to but doesnt it seem odd-

Don't forget Hendricks/Jeff Gordon/Ray Everham on the 24 car in the late 98/99 season. The year Mark Martin won 10 races and still lost championship to Gordon. This was the same season that Ray Everham held the record for fines from nascar. Jack Roush made a formal complaint after one race where Gordon came out of the pits in 5th or 6th with 10 laps to go taking only 2 tires and went to first after 6 laps and the win. As I recall they were seen bringing up the 2 tires from the garage to the pits just before the change. Investigation shows the tires showed traces of some illegal compound (burned away by the finish) NASCAR did nothing and those points took the championship from Martin. Hendricks has always been shady, including a conviction on some illegal deals with his car business.

And that pretty much sums it up...once a cheat, always a cheat. NASCAR is no where near the same from back in the 90s and early 2000s. Once big E died they have no one to turn to that dominates. It certainly isn't little JJ.

Suggest you guys re read my post......Never said the drivers suck!(well except for Gordon) Just that the way NASCAR runs the show. Its all about the $$.
As for the great drivers.....those were the guys from the 50's thru 80"s not just in NASCAR but in all kinds of races! Those cars were nasty, harder to drive and more dangerous in every respect and really took more talent than any of today's cars...... especially F1.

No not easy, but technically so superior in every way especially aero and tires!
Oh buy the way seems Jimmy J almost pulled off another amazing finish! (Please)
Finishing inside the top 10 is a minimal requirement for Johnson and the No. 48 Lowe’s Johnson drove like a fiend while passing 37 race cars to earn his 16th top-10 finish on the Magic Mile.
