V-Belts

Ok if you need to change your belts (I threw one and the rest were history) don't count on your parts counter for help. SVO what? is that a 5.0 Cobra? Changing belts is a simple job that even a novice can handle with basic tools and about 15min. once you have the proper parts. My car is an 86 with AC. The AC belt runs from the compressor pulley to the outer groove in the water pump pulley and uses a 7355 V belt. The alt, PS pump and two crank pulley groves require two of the same size belts, you can use a 7530 or 7535. They both must be the same ie a pair. Happy Motoring! :cool: 4820

Dont forget when replacing a two belt setup to get matched belts so they tighten up evenly.

Dont forget when replacing a two belt setup to get matched belts so they tighten up evenly. That's from decades ago when the belt companies couldn't make any two the same. Today's belts are so close to start with, there's not enough variation in 1000 belts to worry about.
