I pulled my trans this weekend to R&R the oil pan gasket....so I thought. PO told me he had replaced the rear main seal and clutch. Also, he was a Ford mechanic. Well, I found the source of my oil leaks. NO GASKET. PO only used silicon...WT#. He did the same thing with the cam cover. While removing the trans, I lost some fluid. It doesn't look like ATF. It looks more like brand new oil. It is very clean, a very light honey color (almost transparent) and smells like oil. I am going to drain and replace. I have verified it's a World Class SVO trans. Thought I would run it by you guys in case this is some type of MTL? Also, my bearing retainer is scored. Can I use the same replacement retainer for the V8 trans?
