Colorado Town Considers Proposal To Award Bounties For Shooting Down Drones

A Colorado town is considering granting its residents hunting licenses to shoot down drones for bounty money, Reuters reported Wednesday.

Trustees in Deer Trail, a town of just 600, will bring up an ordinance next month that would allow residents to pay $25 for a license to shoot down "unmanned aerial vehicles" flying under 1,000 feet with a 12-gauge shotgun, according to Reuters. Anyone who could produce "either the nose or the tail" of a drone would be paid $100 under the proposal.

I'd offer a service to fly your drones through the town on Saturdays. Pay me $100 each and I'll have a safe take off and landing areas within 1/4 mile outside of the town limits. First to get their drone to the landing area (or land in city hall) gets the pot.

I predict after the first five drones downed, all future drones will only fly in pairs and will be armed.
From then on, it will be "fun".

I saw that today Mike...lmao
They said they were hoping to generate some income for the town from outsiders who wanted an official "drone hunting permit".
You bring the beer, I'll bring the shells!

Still not as cool as a zombie hunting permit.

Yeah, but how likely are you to actually bag a real zombie??

Whereas having a tail section mounted on my wall [next to the moose head] in the shop would be kewl!

I think it would be a good idea to mount the other end of all hunting trophies to see how many people could guess what each one was from the tail. LOL
