Why should I buy the $165 Motorcraft TFI module, v the $35 McParts store special? I bet they are made in the same factory.

I realize that the TFI basically modifies the dwell for the coil, so how critical is this piece for "proper" operation. In a pinch I've thrown one in from a V6 Ranger and had things work.

Yes, at times I'm a hack in order to keep things running.
