Looking for my old SVO

Sold my SVO back in February/March of 2011. I'd like to find it and see if the current owner is willing to sell.

It was an early 1984 model with slapper bars, leather interior, no sun roof, 9W in color, though the previous owner had painted it a couple shades darker than the standard color. It had a red stripe around the car where the thin molding would usually go and it no wide molding behind the rear tires. It had a few modifications, a single a-pillar gauge in a tack on pod (boost), Gillis valve and 3" exhaust. Vin is 1FABP28T4EF101809.

I sold it to a guy in Miami, Oklahoma, (who turned out to be a dealer) who sold it to a guy in Blue Jacket, Oklahoma, named Chris Worden. I believe (through a little Facebook stalking my wife did) that Chris now lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Chris had given me his number after he bought the car, but it has since been disconnected. Meanwhile through other channels I found that the car was last registered in Oklahoma in 2012.

When I sold the car it had '94-'95 Cobra wheels instead of the '96-'97 pictured (silver painted inset instead of dark grey).

Any information would be appreciated as to the cars current whereabouts.

We finally were able to contact Chris, he says he sold the car "a while back". However, through other channels, I've found that it was last registered to him. I'm not sure if he's telling us a fib so we will leave him alone or if the guy he sold it to didn't register the car.

Either way we are still searching for this car...

Boy I wish some of my cars previous owners wanted their cars back !! If I got to choose the ones it would be those that I paid the most money to ! LOL

Still searching for this car. Finally contacted Chris and he says he sold the car in 2011, but through other sources I've found that the car shows it is still registered to him. If he did sell it the current owner never registered the car. It may be lost at this point, but I'll always look for it...

If it hasn't been registered in all of this time it may have been the victim of a car butcher. Like you, this Chris may not have known who it was that was buying it from him. Butchers, like some dealers, aren't up front with sellers.
I hope that isn't the case & that you are able to locate it and buy it back someday.

Bob, I remember when you sold it back in 2007. I should have bought it from you, really nice car. Last owner that I know of is Cody de Waal - Calgary, AB Canada in 2010.

In a strange turn events, I have finally found this car. It has spent the last 7 years in a Mustang salvage yard, under a carport.

It's not exactly as I left it, as the drivetrain is missing, but it's back in my possession. I hope to get it back on the road later this year.

I picked up a rebuilt engine out of an '86 today (kid is putting a turbo LS in it, :() and I'll get a transmission Friday. I do want to go through the brakes and replace all the rubber lines as well as do something about the front ball joints. They were bad when I had it and I doubt anyone did anything about it.

A friend found it in a Facebook group. The guy was saying he just made a deal to buy it. Same friend had been at this Mustang salvage the day before, but just missed it somehow. He called the guy at the salvage to confirm it was there. Once it was confirmed, I called, told him I could be there with cash Monday, he said to bring a trailer. :D

I have to say I probably paid a little too much, but I know the car and the wife wanted back almost more than I did (we have lots of fond memories made with that car).

Wasn't at Rusty and Kathy's place. This salvage is in Elm Springs, Arkansas. West of Springdale.

Guy thought he may have another SVO in the yard. I'm going to look when I go back to get some wheels from him and take in a 1987 GT convertible that I'm using for the drivetrain on a friend's project.

BTW, is this Max I'm speaking with? Or are their more SVO owners in CJ?

Hey Craig belated congratulations!!
I have had that pic of your car in the 1st post, in my SVO computer files for many years. When we bought our 84 1C in 2013, that pic helped me to decide to put a thin red stripe around it like you did. I put the red stripe on our present 84 1C also.
Of course it didn't hurt any that it also matched the original red stripe on our 88 Black Bird:
