Ban me again before I do something stupid, wiring fan

I'm tired of that damn, POS stock fan relay. How do I wire up the fan with decent sized wiring and a couple of 70 amp relays. I've run a constant on fan before, and of course it over fuels the engine because it never gets up to temp.

I'm going to do it anyhow, so just give me a hand. I'm likely to burn it to the ground on my own. (My "Blazing Saddles" type statement...you know the scene)

Just so you know I'm serious...I have a Power Probe and am not afraid to use it (I'm just not sure how).

Bob, not sure what your options are if you want to maintain the factory temp switch, but my solution was to use the "amp" switch as a trigger for a relay directly to the fan. Worked great except for when you forgot to turn it on:):):)

Install the relay with fused battery power and trigger the new relay using he output from the current fan controller. That way the current fan controller will determine the temp form the stock sensor nad will only see the new relay coil current for load, ~1Amp. Should be fine.

I did it the redneck way with my old svo that didn't have working a/c. I just unplugged the a/c accumulator, and put a jumper wire in the plug, and controlled the fan from my a/c panel. It worked on my 86, but not on my friend's 84. Not sure why.

To make it even more simple, wire in the relay as Mike suggests but instead of using the stock fan relay module to activate the new relay, just use the stock temp sensor to ground the solenoid of the relay directly.
