Engine & Trans Value

I might have the chance to pick up a complete engine & trans from an 86 SVO. Complete stock setup with about 125K including engine harness and VAM. Thinking of keeping the trans for a spare, having the shortblock rebuilt with forged rods/pistons or putting the combo in another foxbody to give to my son. What is the approximate worth if it is in decent shape?

With all accessories attached (ac, ps pump, alt, starter, turbo, intake, vam, ic, oil cooler, harness, sensors, breather,pcv, Hurst shift lever..) & not knowing if everything works, I would say $500-600 tops. You should at least make sure you can turn it over by hand. If they haven't drained the fluids, check the oil for brown sludge.
That's just what I would be willing to pay.
