A member asked for info regarding how to get the sway bar pointing back in the correct direction after installing H&R springs, which lower the front of the car about 1"". Simply cut 3/4" off the end of the tube. File / deburr the rough edges, and reinstall with the 3/4" tube on the other side of the bushings and washer.5232523352345235You get the tie rod boot part number at no extra charge.

Thats a good idea, but why not just replace the bolt with a 3/4" shorter bolt?

Shorten those two bolts, leave off the extra spacer section and save a quarter pound of weight.

Shorten those two bolts, leave off the extra spacer section and save a quarter pound of weight. Look at the available threads, washer I.D., and stack height in pics 1 and 2, compared with pic 3. That's not going to work. The threads will bottom out before there is tension on the bushings, and it can't be put back to stock. I also doubt that 3/4 of an inch of a ~couple 5/16" bolts weigh anywhere near a quarter pounder (unless you want fries with that).

Those stock bolts are over an inch too long in the stock application. Just get a shorter bolt.

I just got a new energy suspension kit with the bolts today, they are much shorter than stock but still don't have enough thread to discard the 3/4 inch piece of tube, this does work well as I have done in before on my 85 SVO. This makes sense, I wonder how many lowered cars are running out there without this modification.
