Emblem mounting

Is there a specification on where the "mustang" and "svo" emblems get mounted.

I mean like certain amount of inches or some measurement on where they are supposed to be put?

Are you talking about the 1986 SVO on the fenders?

Use care NOT to place where some are on this forum or in internet photos.

You have to use original cars - but understand that some differ slightly in placement. Point is TOO FAR FORWARD and you look goofy. (compared to other cars) Of course same goes for too far back!

Understand that "talking about this" effects other's cars. Hate to get the red ass from those that think their cars are perfect. It's funny - you can't have an untouched original that has been painted, modded or all kinds of stuff changed.

What year svo do you have? I believe the emblems changed colors after '84 (maybe not) but the later cars had different types of emblems as well as more of them. The only external svo emblem on my '84 is on the hatch on the drivers side, right next to the mustang emblem.

Sorry, I should have mentioned. I have a 1986 SVO.

I may have pics of my own car but cant seem to come across them at the moment to compare.

YES the fender ones AND the rear hatch SVO and mustang emblems. Basically all of them there are 3 SVO and one mustang.

There is no perfect placement, don't think they were too concerned with exact placement when they originally assembled these cars. Check out the pics of mine in my for sale add. It looks like line parts use "template and line up lines". ( another reason repro is different)

Esco, those pics would be SUPER helpful if you could re-do them with some form of measurement reference. By that I mean, tape measure from the rear fender edge and from the panel fold line so we can see the actual measurements to the edge of the emblems.

Now you can SEE why I posted the above! We should show multiple cars as the pictures will show the slight placement differences , point to repaired cars (remember Ken's/now Kendal's CP). You have a bit of wiggle room - too much and it "sticks out" glaringly.

Thanks for the photos - I needed the rear deck just last week. I could have eyed it ,compared to the other 1984. If I was doing an 86 I would have to DECIDED what I like or don't like. (Have SEEN many that all differ slightly)

If people put effort into "measurement" photos we should all use yard sticks / use say center of key hole as constant for the back/fender at thin strip in the front for baseline.

Can you imagine the posts "mine is 18" off the ground if we didn't. LOL
