These wires were cut and this brown thing was missing on my silver scca race car. It runs fine without it. What does it do. thanks Kendal

That looks like the 22K Ohm resistor in the ignition primary circuit to lower the voltage spikes to the tach. Iirc the other green wire goes directly to the TFI to provide the ignition primary ground path.

I am having my wiring in the engine bay repaired. Years ago another SVO club member told me to jumper out a resistor. He said it was for the fuel pump. I had the 2 pumps and went to one. The resistor is located below the drivers side hood hinge. It is green with a red stripe wire on one end and a red with a green stripe on the other. I've been running it jumpered for awhile. What circuit is it tyed into?

I found it. It goes from the voltage regulator electronic control to the fuse then to the start ignition & alternator warning. Is there a reason it should be jumped. I did convert to the G-6 alternator.
