New antennae going to the mountain. Closing roads along the path. Most of the highway and city movements have been during the wee hours. The trip to the mountain top will be done during daylight hours while the road is closed. It's heading to the mountain top tomorrow.

As it leaves the relatively flat highway roadways & through the city (with appropriate planning for underpass heights!) , it needs to be moved to a tilt frame to get it up the steep mountain road to the observatory area will it will be ground mounted. Pics here are moving it from the roadway truck to the tilt frame for transport up the mountain.

Big. Heavy.

Didn't notice the building on the peak! That's neat.

If you are into the big rig stuff, I just came across this.

My father in-law works for the electric co-op at Kitt Peak, he's a Super or something, anyhoo we get to go places and do things there most normal people don't get to, kids used to love going there, before they grew up an realized that wasn't cool anymore.

Here is a pic I took many moons ago:

and of course Mike you'll recognize this too, funny thing is our boy used to be the docent there at the Titan site:

Sorry we didn't get to go out and have a few drinks and hang out, but between the family thing, Lori and I were looking at some properties while we were out there this past Thanksgiving.

Were seriously looking to do the moving thing.

I am always amazed when looking at those missile sites that launching a rocket from that hole it didn't scrape the walls all the way out then fall flat on the ground and explode. Like in the Wiley Coyote shows and my early experiments (pre-grade school) with sending my sister to the moon?
