Just got done removing the head for rebuild, just wanted to let anyone who is looking for a good rust busting product I can't say enough about the new WD 40 rust release penetrant, this is the new stuff in the black & silver can, not the regular WD40 in the blue can. Since nothing had been removed on my engine I was worried about breaking bolts so about a week ago I started spraying everything down with this new stuff. I would get the engine warm, then pull the intercooler and spray all the bolts. I repeated this 3 times, not one problem taking anything off even the nuts holding the down pipe to the turbo outlet elbow came right off. Believe me from the looks of all the hardware I was certain I would be in for a problem at some point. But this stuff really works better than others I have used in the past.

Thanks for the advice, I will certainly pick up a can. :like3:

Have you ever heard of a 50/50 mix of acetone/PS fluid? That seems to work great too from my limited experience.

I'm not a big fan of the new 'smart straw' on the regular WD40 can tho'

Bought some and just tried it. I either got lucky or the stuff is good. ;) Didn't even soak the bolts too long!

Thanks for the suggestion.
