heater core restrictor

Well looks like I have the dreaded leaking core .I have been smelling coolant inside for a while and now its dripping coolant out of the a/c drain tube.
In an effort to make the next core last I did a search for heater core restrictors for the svo. I found no real answer as to yes the svo has one or not.
So my question is if not would one help the heater core last or would installing one hamper the oil coolers effectiveness as it would slow down the amount of coolant passing through the oil cooler .

Don't believe SVO or any standard Fox mustang came with one, I think only the SSP (Police) cars had them however the coolant flow to oil coolers on the V8 SSP cars is right off the water pump. If you replace the core spend the extra and get one from Ford they were still all brass and not the cheap alum aftermarket core. NPD has them and I think Late Model does also
