Need Clutch Cable

My clutch cable snapped on my way home today. It had a 5.0 cable on it that has worked since i purchased the car about 6 months ago. I have a firewall adjuster i dont know if that makes a difference or not. I found a NOS clutch cable a dealership but they want 258.03 for it! I do not want a 5.0 clutch cable again i would like to do it the right way but i need my car desperatly. Autozone has one but im almost positive it is the wrong cable. He said it was 60.75" long. Any ideas?

The ones I was getting from Napa are just fine. I forget the part# off the top of my head but it had the zinc plated holder and all.

It should... the firewall adjuster will take up most of the slack. plus it gets rid of the brittle stock quadrent. I ask you however what is your pain threshold. replacing the quadrent is a PITA. I need to look at it harder next time I do one. I think it would be easier to remove the whole pedal assembly and work onit on the bench. instead of upsidown in the dark.

I will be doing this in the spring after we move to our new rental. I know that this is going to be hard to do but in the long run will be worth it since the auto adjust thingy on the clutch has not worked since I bought the car.

as to the cable.......... someone posted here that Rock Auto is closing out their SVO clutch cables and only had a few left

I am pretty sure it is the same cable as 87-93 4cy with a T5 trans. I don't think there should be a shortage in the near future.

Will be venturing under the dash as soon as it warms up..... sounds like fun but with my luck on plastic parts, might as well bite the bullet and change the quadrant/cable. :(

Well I did the clutch cable today took all of about 15 minutes! I found out I do have an aftermarket quadrant. The previous clutch cable was one of the adjustable deals with the two nuts. I replaced it with the pioneer clutch cable CA-315 worked out very well. And remember I was mentioning my clutch pedal was super stiff? Well it was all in the cable it drives like a new car now

And I drove it for two blocks with a snapped cable. Started her up in 1st and it was so snowy and icy I could stop and the tires would spin at idle lol
