Looking to see if anyone of you fine souls has a pic of the cooling fan wiring diagram, the whole system including relay and sensor. I tested the fan and it works well, but wanted to go thru the system and check it all out. Other fingers have been in the wiring before me, so I wanted to have a look see and check it all out.

Are you going for totally stock or functional? I replaced the stock fan control with an after market one years ago and have been happy ever since. The stock fan control system is prone to self destruct causing cracked heads and the like (ask me how I know) !

Thanks for the reply Brsvo. I'd like a fan control I can rely on. What are you using?

stock fan controller is poo poo. There was an aftermarket adj temp one on the car when I got it, now I know why it was on there, lol. going to wire it up saturday and see if that one works. I like clutch fans much better!

I run the aftermarket adjustable one.

There are replacements for the stock one & I do offer repairs on the stock one.

I replaced the fan control module years ago with a new one. It didn't work. I hooked a Manuel switch. I want to install a new a/c system and would like to go with automatic operation. Is there also a fan relay? Where is it & how hard is it to get to?

I guess nobody knows about a fan relay. I'll see if Hose Wizard has anything when I talk with them.

There is only a fan control module under the dash on the driver side. It's pretty easy to trouble shoot.

The fan control module has 2 relays, one for fan on with the coolant sensor, and the 2nd one for the AC compressor + cooling fan....

The link that Barry posted is a good one.

When it comes to simply replacing the stock setup, one thing leads to another.

Since I replaced the computer with the LA3, which has its own temp sensor and fan driver, I'm using that to drive a Volvo fan relay that in turn drives a Taurus electrical two-speed fan.

I believe the V8 folks who don't have the LA3 fan switch are using a two-stage BMW coolant temp switch.

Sorry, I don't have specifics right now. Been a very busy year and haven't had much time to do anything on my car (luckily I've had a local mobile mechanic working on it as money allows).

That link for the fan control module is real good. Thanks

I recently lost a head gasket. I was running it hard at the time, had a faulty radiator cap, was running lean, and lost the fan controller. Since Mitch had worked on it recently, I am going to blame him. Since this was not the first HG I've lost on the car and the 3rd or 4th relay, I spent some time diagnosing the problems. The last time the HG blew I replaced the radiator with a Mishimoto aluminum radiator. The problem with it is that it is designed to use the Mishimoto radiator cap and not the stock one. They are a different rating and not designed to interchanged. They are close and seem to fit though. The second problem was that the radiator fan seems to spike very high on startup but settles down to spec. I decided to add a relay to the circuit. This has off loaded the fan controller and with power coming directly from the battery the radiator fan seems to be running better.

Since I replaced the computer with the LA3, which has its own temp sensor and fan driver, I'm using that to drive a Volvo fan relay that in turn drives a Taurus electrical two-speed fan. The LA* EECs use the engine Engine Coolant Temp sensor, aka EC or ECT, to determine coolant temp. There is no separate fan temp switch.

Then the LA* EEC sends a low-level output signal to the integrated relay module (aka IRM, a box mounted forward of the RF shock tower) that sends the actual power to the two rad fans.
