Do any of the topic areas get pruned after a certain time?

I was looking for an old topic and it's lost or my mind is. :confused:

I noticed the 'Welcome' section only contains recent threads.

Yes. There are four, iirc, forum subsections that get pruned after 90 days. Welcome & Testing are two I can recall off the top of my head (the hairless section). I'd have to look to see what the other two are.

Back Room perhaps?

- Welcome
- The Back Room
- Twilight Zone (by invitation only)
- NSFW/NWS (by invitation only)

Iirc after a thread has not seen any ,ore activity for more than 90 days, the thread is deleted. If it's bumped, then the counter starts over again. That's how I think it works.

I do keep daily backups since we first opened the forum, but it's a LOT of work to reclaim/import specific threads into the current database.

OK, good to know and I'll avoid posting any good reference material in Back Room. Sometimes I'm not sure where to post info so I default to the Back Room but perhaps I need to post somewhere else.

Yep. BR is intended as a chat forum and for off-topic stuff that's not SVO or car related. I will update the forum title to indicate it gets purged periodically.

If you have some tech stuff to post and can't find a suitable location in any of the current categories, tell Mitch so he can create a new forum. I heard if you put it in the form of a suggestion he won't ban you.
