Installing aftermarket gauges, need help for hooking up lighting!!

I just bought some aftermarket gauges for boost, oil pressure and water temperature. All gauges are back lit, and I was wondering, on our SVO's (mine is an 85), where is the best place in the factory wiring harness to tap in to for lighting that can retain brightness adjustment with the headlight knob? I could wire them in so they are lit all the time with switched ignition 12v, but I don't want them burning the bulbs all of the time.

Any suggestions?

This is from a V8 car so there are some differences. The wire to tap into should be blue w/ red stripe.

Thanks Mike. Although, I am not replacing the cluster, but just adding gauges to the A-pillar (boost and AFR for wideband), and replacing the information center with a couple of 2 1/16th" gauges (oil pressure and water temp).
