Everyone take a look at this please and give me your thoughts and criticism. I am anything but a writer, so keep that in mind. If there is something you think I should add or delete speak up.
1984 Mustang SVO
The Mustang SVO was created by the then new Special Vehicle Operations group as a "driver's car". It was to be a more modern and european style Mustang made to take on the likes of Porsche, Audi, and BMW.
The suspension came from the factory with Koni adjustable struts on the front and shocks on the rear so a buyer could adjust the ride softer or firmer, depending on how and where they wished to drive the car as are the front control arms.
The brakes are unique to the SVO with five lug wheels and four wheel disc brakes from the factory. A first for the fox body era mustang.
The engine is Ford's 2.3 liter 4 cylinder OHC engine that Ford added an intercooled turbocharger and fuel injection to,making 175 HP, and 210lb-ft of torque and backed it up by a Borg Warner 5 speed and putting it all to the pavement by going through a Ford 7.5 inch rear with 3:45 gears.
The interior was fitted with unique upholstery and door panels, along with a trio of switches on the console in place of the usual information center.
The switches are for the Marchal fog lights, radio amp, and the third one was to change the engines timing slightly allowing the use of 93 octane fuel and getting better performance.
The speedometer was special to The SVO also, reading up to 85 MPH and then going the rest of the way to 120 by marks only, but no numbers.
The special body parts on the SVO are actually there for a purpose and not just for looks.
The scoop on the unique hood is off center to feed cooler air to the intercooler that is mounted above the turbo on the right side of the engine, and the bi-plane spoiler on the rear is to provide more downforce at higher speeds.
sorry about the size. I did a copy and paste.
