I thought I might need a new wiper motor but found this odd. Obviously from the title of my post you can tell what my problem is but while messing with them trying to figure it out I noticed something that makes me think it is not the switching in the wiper motor. If I turn the wipers on and off from inside the car they continue to run. While they are running if I disconnect the battery with wipers NOT in the park position, when I re-connect the battery they park normally. I am assuming there is some wiper control module or something somewhere that is the culprit. I was going to try and see if the same thing happened by just turning the key off and back on, but that was an after thought and the car is at my shop right now. Thanks for any suggestions. Rob

There's three things at play in the SVO wiper system:

- The wiper switch in the steering column (which is different from the stalk arm)
- The motor itself (which has the park location thingie in it)
- The delay wiper module under the dash (probably no longer serviced). Hasa "DO NOT DROP" label on it.

My first thought would also be the motor causing a non-park condition however the power comes from the wiper switch in the column. Iirc you can bypass the delay module by unplugging it and connecting the two harness pieces together but i would need to check the wiring diagrams to be sure.
