Just wanted to introduce myself and say Hi to everyone. Tho I"m new here, I'm not new to the SVO scene, having owned 2 1986, 1C and 1D over the last 14 years my last being sold in 2011. Both were in real nice condition and I had some real fun with them. Unfortunately as everyone knows "Life" has a funny way of getting in the way and changing things on you. Now that Life has eased up somewhat for me. I'm on the hunt for another 86 to put in my garage. I've been actively looking and have some prospects so wish me luck. I look forward to getting advice and chatting with everyone here.

Welcome to the site.

Good luck on your search. There was a dd 86 1C comp prep sold on kijiji here a few weeks ago for $2500 plus came with a complete turbo coupe parts car. It went the first day...they are out there; more so in the states than in Canada for sure!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. My search is over as I'm in the process of picking up a 1985.5 1C. Needs some TLC but that's why I picked it up. It seems my 16 year old son is getting a liking to my "old" car and is fascinated that its a 4cyl turbo. Wants to help me work on it. Couldn't be any prouder!

Congrats!

( BTW - Now your son will have to create his own forum account so he can post pics and comments on his new car. Just sayin'.)

That's too cool that your son is into the SVO's as well. My son just turned 19 and we have always had an SVO in the family for his entire life. Now that he is 19 I plan on letting him drive it after the body work gets completed. I know he will take good care of it and will be proud of it like I am.

It is nice that he is into it with me. Already looking up motels for Ford nationals at Carlisle in June 2015. I first took him 2months after he was born. Started him young.

Welcome to the SVOCOP! Normally you would get the complementary banning, but we'll throw the hammer at your boy for not joining when you did. He is banned until his first post. Be aware his first post should be a welcoming post with a pic of him working on the father / son project. We don't want to double ban him :-)

Good luck & keep us up to date on the progress to avoid future bannings :-)

I'm surprised you didn't pre-ban him for not being BORN in an SVO...lol

Hopefully Mike is at Lebanon Valley, NY today meeting some of the east coast owners. Unfortunately I couldn't go. :(

Hey NYSVO, Somehow I missed your original post.

Welcome!

I lived outside of Pok for 16 years and bought my SVO in NY from the original owner who bought it at Pleasant Valley Ford. Also bought a new 83 TBird from Poughkeepsie Ford.

We had a lot of good time with family and Fords in the area until we moved in '95. Were just recently back and walked the railroad bridge, that was cool!

Glad to hear you are back in the SVO game. :like3:

Rodster, Like they say "Small world". Bought a used car from Pleasant Valley Ford back in 92. Spot where they were is a CVS now. Both dealerships out of business. Best thing they could've done was make that rail bridge into the walkway.
NYeric, Lol let me know if you need any help in securing that "Lost" inventory.

Yea, very small world, NY eric and I were practically neighbors. There is still a dealership on the site of the old Poughkeepsie Ford isn't there? Is Pleasant Valley Ford completely gone? I'm guessing they went out when Ford was squeezing all of the small dealerships.

Rodster. Yea PV Ford left the center of Town and built a new dealership up by parkway at the edge of town. They were bought out by Miracle Ford who the closed that dealership and Bought out Poughkeepsie Ford who then was bought out by Friendly Honda who renamed it Friendly Ford. Got all that. Yea Myers Corners Rd is not far. Used to be a jeep dealership on that road if I'm not mistaken.

My head is spinning! :D I think I followed that. Who's on first? ;)

Yea, Parsons Jeep if I recall. Think they went out of business shortly after we moved there in 1980. It was just down the road from us. We were out by Rt376.

A lot has changed, especially at IBM. :( During our last visit we saw them tearing down a large chunk of the East Fishkill complex.

May have to drive the SVO up there next year just for old times sake!

Lol. Yea things change too quick sometimes. Now the old IBM complex west of the HS (John Jay) has been abandoned for years. Finally some development happening there. A sports dome going in.
