SVOCOP has attended the Sturgis Mustang Rally the past two years and will be there again this year. The Sturgis (South Dakota) Mustang Rally runs from August 27th to the 31st. Look here for more information: http://sturgismustangrally.com/ If you visit the rally, look us up (or send a PM and we can meet up).

Check back to this thread to see some of the travels to and events of the rally.

In the past years, we've never been short of Tech Sessions; however, without Tony in attendance this year (he will be missed) we're having to search for one. This year we'll do a tech session on how to stop your steering column from squeaking by replacing the upper bearing. We'll take a few pictures for those that are interested. Other tech sessions "as required".

The countdown has begun!

I wish we could be there! Working on getting the new shirts ready for delivery to the rental house.
I have the following orders submitted:
Dave -3
Doug - 2
Tom - 1

If everything goes well, they will ship via a large box usps priority flat rate shipping to the rental house.

Lookin' good Dave, I will wait till after the trip for a fresh wash and wax. Hopefully my clean-up time will not be replaced by a tech session but you never know? Our forecast in Mpls through Wed looks cloudy and rainy.

Our first full day at Hilltop Haven. SVO repair, tune, and clean up.

SVO repair work...imagine that! Tom had to change into his work attire.

Our chef for the evening...on the grill with the view from the balcony in the background.
As you can see...Doug passed out while working on Tom's car.

Not really. That's 94 octane non ethanol. That's a pretty good price for that gas.

JT, you need to make it there next year! Yes that means we will owe you a visit to Carlisle or another big event in your neck of the woods.

Mitch, I'd love to attend, but it's not in the cards while my daughter is in school....

Friday Autocross pictures. Doug and Tom represented the SVOs...I opted not to compete due to the 80% chance of rain and no rain tires. I did spend some time with Doug and Tom while they competed.

Tom on the autocross course.

Doug on the autocross course.
7504

Doug made all the gates today; however, he did hit a cone. It was impressive, it remained upright and traveled about 15 or 20 feet!
7505

Doug made the cut and will run again on Sunday. Tom didn't make the cut. If it rains (and there is an 80% chance) Doug will use Tom's rain tires.

Sounds like it was payback time for Doug with those damn cones.
Stacy should enter Tom's car.

Correct! That was in fact the ACTUAL gate cone that I missed last year (I marked it with a Sharpie pen while no one was looking). Nailed it good this yeat - paybacks are b**ch!! ;)

Did the guy with the race purpose Shelby show up this year? How about the guy that insults the field in his fox?

It may rain and Dave or Stacey are not entered???
Time to reflect on how well a 500+HP Shelby or Roush will do in the wet !!!
Just enter and if it's wet in the morning qualifying, be a bit far back in the qualifying line.
Let the macho steroids guys' cars dry up the track for you.

The only advantage I can see with the pigs in the rain, is they have abs, but that only helps if you know how to drive.
Dave & Stacey should use their street tires & baby it around the track. That might be all that's needed to win.

Yes, talked to him a bit, really nice guy. He actually gave me some good pointers. Between him and tips from Dave I knocked a couple more seconds knocked of my time.

How about the guy that insults the field in his fox?

He's here but didn't run on Friday, he might be running in the Sunday group.
