My understanding is this was the first Ferrari to win the prestigious award. Rumor has it the Ferrari was chosen due to the lack of red on the car:cool:. The car was rebuilt just around the corner from the house here. Seen some rare vintage race cars pass through the doors there. It's one of those places that won't respond to a customer unless they have $$$$$$$$$ or if they know someone that works at the shop.

My wife and I have been to Monterey weekend five times in the past decade although we haven't been to Pebble Beach. The last time I checked, the tickets were $150 per person and there is a dress code. According to their site, the price is now $275 per peasant.

Regardless, that series of events surrounding that weekend is a mecca for any gearhead. Our past pattern was to attend Concorso Italiano (http://concorso.com/) on Friday and spend Saturday and Sunday at Laguna Seca. The parking lots at these events are flush with the cars that used to cover my childhood bedroom walls.

I've seen four Ferrari Enzos at one event.

I've now seen at least five of the Vector vaporware cars (https://www.youtube.com/watch?edit=vd&v=-_d_N0L0AoE).

The rare of the rare come out for these events. Such as a Ferrari F50 just driving past. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjwThzAUY_Y&feature=youtu.be)

At Laguna Seca in 2004, we saw a race with about 20 '62/'63 Ferrari GTOs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lo9pUEKlXQM&feature=youtu.be).

It is a magical place and should be on any car enthusiasts bucket list.
