SO- as usual I joined up and then spent more time working on cars than posting but I have been lurking some here and there. Picked up something interesting a few months ago that I have meaning to post up for everyone but I am picture challenged so it hasn't happened yet.

Some of you from the older days on another website may remember me buying my svo with an aftermarket upper wing (2002ish) I sold the wing and went original but did put up a few posts of it. A few months ago I wrangled the mold and a few spoilers from the guy that made them, the original owner of my 84. They have been in storage for 20 years.

The upper is molded so it will fit over a stock LX spoiler or can be cut to butt up to the original. I finished one up to fit over a Steeda whale tale on my car earlier this month. Ill try to get some pics up in the next week so everyone can see them and maybe someone will want to take the mold off my hands and put it to use.

You can see how the upper was built to overlap the lower spoiler so you can use one from an everyday LX or something HUGE like my Steeda whale tale. I spent about 2 hours on prep from a bare fiberglass part to have it ready for the trim paint, then beat it up before I got it put on the car. They were made in two pieces and bonded together so it really looks original with the exception of the overlay.

Cool. Looks like it wouldn't take much to correct the over lay if you wanted a smooth transition.

It certianly could look a lot worse considering it is aftermarket. Maybe Ford should have done that in the first place and then we wouldnt have to scrounge around so hard trying to find the correct lower spoiler when one is needed.

As time goes by & more SVO owners suffer the droopies these may become a real hot item so hang in there.
