sticking boost gauge

So I fixed the stutter by replacing the cracked spark plug, but for some reason now my boost gauge is staying up after I get off the throttle. It eventually drops back down to zero but only after the car is shut off.
Has anyone else had a problem like that???

It's a typical mechanical bourdon tube, gear display gauge. Probably some wear in the gears. Hard tr tell if it's repairable from this distance. I may have a spare somewhere in the shop.

Thanks Mike, I have another gauge cluster here but the condition of the small gauges are unknown.
Where exactly can I hook up a vacuum hose to the extra gauge I have to test it before I put it in???

There is a nipple thingie sticking out the back of the cluster that's part of that gauge. It's straight behind the display part.

As you remove the existing cluster, you will need to disconnect that hose so it's easy enough to locate - just kinda difficult to get to if you have man-sized hands. And most of the edges in that area appear to be sharper than desired.

Remember to keep pressure on the wound(s) until after the bleeding stops.

No, I mean where can I hook up a vaccuum line to the spare gauge under the hood to check its operational status before installing it permanately??

Any of the ports on the vacuum tree plastic thingie on the firewall. The upper Follow the hose from the upper manifold port to the firewall - everything connects there and there is always at least one capped port available. Pull the cap off, install hose to gauge.

Well, I found the problem. The last time I pulled the instrument cluster out, I kinked the vacuum line when I reinstalled the gauge cluster.
Dummy move.
